Foreign Rights
Schildts & Söderströms was created through a merger of two Finland Swedish publishing houses in 2012, Schildts Förlags Ab and Söderströms & C:o Förlagsaktiebolag. The eldest of these, Söderströms, was founded in 1891 and Schildts in 1913.
Today Schildts & Söderströms is the biggest publisher of Finland-Swedish literature in Finland. We publish around 70 new titles annually; these include novels, short stories, poetry, books for children and juveniles as well as non-fiction. Schildts & Söderströms also publishes educational content and a selection of new Finnish titles each year. Tove Jansson, Monika Fagerholm and Kjell Westö are the most well-known of our authors internationally.
